Feral cats are unsocialized felines who live in self-sufficient colonies.

They often descend from abandoned pets and can struggle to survive on their own.  At Asoc de Amigos de los Gatos de Calpe, we understand the challenges these cats face. Our compassionate volunteers dedicate their time and resources to ensuring their basic needs are met. We provide regular food supplies, ensuring the cats are well-nourished and healthy. This not only benefits the cats themselves but also helps to minimize nuisance behaviors like scavenging for scraps. Additionally, we address any medical needs that may arise. This includes coordinating veterinary care for sick or injured cats, preventing the spread of illness within the colonies

Where new litter is encountered we are well placed to intercept their growth as feral offspring and find these young members loving homes with the community as household pets. This often completes the circle of unwanted and abandoned cats put out to fend for themselves back to being loved and treasured as members of human families. A pet cat is a wonderful addition to our own way of life.
